Help me Represent WV at the national libertarian convention...

Friends,

As many of you know my time in DC drew out my political side. I recall , shortly after moving there, people asking what I thought of DC, I would reply "well there are a lot of Democrats and a lot of Republicans". Little did I know how true that actually was! Within my 5 year stint this mountain boy learned a lot about how our nation’s capitol operates. Though I was working as an engineer, I did work on several government contracts, and was often bothered by how much politics played into decisions that were made. I saw a lot of things I liked about the capitol and reminded how much I loved this country. I would often go to protest's or events at held in DC, even for groups or causes I didn't agree with, just because I loved seeing people stand up and protest for what they believed in, and love living in a country where that is possible.
I was often frustrated, however, by the partisan bickering of individuals from either of the main stage political parties, often times playing the hate card of labeling someone as left or right thus they are wrong without ever discussing the real issues at hand or offering any solutions.
I was a registered libertarian when I was 18 years old, I really did not know what that meant, just knew I didn't agree with anything that politics represented, and probably had a lot to do with the rebel child in me.
As I have learned more about the libertarian philosophy of freedom I have become an even bigger proponent. Not viewing freedom as being divided between social liberties v/s economic liberties that are battling each other, but instead putting freedom back together again, as a whole, economical and personal choices being about individual values and choices and about the power for those choices being in the hand of the individual making them. It seems that neither of the mainstream parties seem to understand that you cannot have true freedom when you divide it in this manner, I realized how that simple decision of selecting the L when I renewed my driver license actually was.
I know many of you may say, well a third party, they have no chance. And unfortunately there is a lot of validity to that statement thanks to the political machine that our Nation has become and laws and regulations unfairly favoring the two major parties, but that doesn't mean that it is a cause not worth fighting for. The Libertarian Party has greatly grown in size, and the philosophy is growing more and more popular. And even when elections are not won by a third party, third party candidates and values often affect the outcomes of elections and these parties messages can influence legislative decisions and political decisions far beyond that of election outcomes.
For that reason I have decided to become more involved with the Libertarian party.
My recent move back to the Mountain State, led me to join the Libertarian Party of WV, where I was quickly given a great opportunity to represent the mountain state at this year’s national Libertarian convention in St Louis. This convention is quickly approaching and the funding for sending a representative is not really in the WV party’s available budget, so we are looking for donations to send me there.
I am asking you, my friends, to make a minimal donation of whatever you can spare to help me kick start my move to getting more involved with politics.
I promise to take this opportunity very seriously and do my diligence to bring my fighting mountaineer spirit with me as I begin my journey deeper into the political scene.

I hope this message find y'all well, and that you have taken the time to seriously consider making a donation.

Your friend and freedom fighter,

Buddy
